NPFL a marathon, not sprint – Idoko
The vice-chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Lobi Stars, Mike Idoko, has described the league as a marathon and not a sprint.
Lobi Stars currently top the NPFL table with 23 points from 12 matches, three points ahead of second placed Kano Pillars.
Speaking with League Rendezvous, Idoko said they are not allowing their current position to get into their head as they still have a long way to go.
“The league is not won after 12 games,” he said. “We still have a long way to go and we are ready to battle till the end.
“Last season I said the club was still a work in progress and now we are beginning to play as a team although we are yet to get to our target.
“From MatchDay 25, the boys will be separated from the men and by then people will begin to see the semblance of the winner.
“One thing that has been going for us has been hard work and God’s direction because we don’t do anything without Him.
